Deliveries

What is the delivery charge?
We are currently only able to ship to UK Mainland only. We do have a minimum order value of £30.00. All orders are shipped with DPD Next day courier service. Delivery is £2.95 for orders under 5 kg and £4.95 for orders over 5 kg in weight. Free delivery on all orders over £75.00 to UK Mainland.
What days do you deliver on?
Tuesday to Saturday. Bank Holiday’s may differ.
Can I choose the time of delivery?
We don’t currently offer the option of selecting a delivery slot/time. You’ll receive a delivery notification via text or email on the day of your delivery with a one-hour time slot. We also take delivery instructions if you’re not home when we’re due to deliver.
What happens if my delivery is with DPD?
We use DPD for 90% of our deliveries. On the morning of delivery, you’ll receive a text or email notification with a one-hour delivery slot. This notification will also have the tracking number for your reference. DPD deliver between the hours of 8am and 8pm.
What if my delivery is with Coast To Home own drivers?
You will receive a time slot on the morning of your delivery and a tracking link so you can keep an eye on your delivery. Our drivers deliver between 9am and 6pm and will take a photo of your box in your safe place should you not be in.
Do I have to be home to receive my delivery?

You don’t have to be home when we deliver. When you place your first order with us we will ask you to add special delivery instructions and these will be stored on your account. We will always leave your order in the safe place listed in your account. As we deliver perishable goods, we are unable to re-direct a box once it is with our courier service.
How is the food packaged and does it stay fresh?

We deliver your order in temperature controlled recyclable boxes with recyclable ice packs, keeping your food chilled for up to 36 hours. Our ice packs may melt while your order is out for delivery; however, we test our box temperatures weekly to ensure our minimum chill time doesn’t change.
What do I do with my empty boxes? Can they be recycled?

Our cardboard boxes are FSC certified and can be put in your regular household recycling. The ice packs are also 100% recyclable and are filled with purified water. The water can be poured away and the plastic popped in your recycling (although we suggest re-using them as they make great picnic box or lunchbox coolers). The silver liner is currently the only thing that is not recyclable, and we would suggest putting this in your household waste.
Is there anywhere in the UK you can’t deliver?

We are unable to ship outside the UK Mainland currently.

Our Fish & Shellfish

Is all your seafood from Cornwall?

The majority of our product is sourced from our local fisherman fish the inshore waters of the Cornish coast, landing daily in St Ives, Newlyn, Porthleven, Falmouth, Hayle and Portreath just to name a few! By choosing to buy your seafood from us, you are supporting the Cornish fishing industry!

If we are unable to source from Cornwall, we tend to use our trust suppliers in Britain and sometimes abroad when required.

Is all your seafood sustainably caught?
Without doubt, one of the most important factors in our business is the sourcing of sustainable species. With this in mind, our buyers work hard to source sustainable fish and shellfish from the local Community and further afield, with the aim of minimising the effect of overfishing, thus ensuring the survival of livlihoods and species for years to come.
Is all your seafood traceable?

Our beautifully wild produce is brought to you from local independent fishing vessels, who are just as passionate about sustainability, catch care, and delivering stunning fresh fish to you as we are.

All our fish is fully traceable with details of the boat, fisherman, date, time and catch method all available and detailed within your order.

Why is seasonality of fish important?
We feel it is our duty to educate and inform our customers about the variety of fish and shellfish available on their doorstep. We have been instrumental in championing relatively unknown species, such as the Cornish Megrim Sole, as a viable alternative to other species which are threatened with overfishing. Not only does this serve to increase interest in Cornish fish, but also is in keeping with our ethos. Learn more about seasonality here.
